Looking for an answer? It used to be you had to look it up in an encyclopedia. en the internet came along and changed everything. Suddenly, you were able to "Google" anything and get back millions of answers. And, if that wasn't easy enough, now you simply have to speak aloud, "Siri" or "Alexa" or "Hey, Google" and ask your question. Of course, with so much information available, one could have a difficult time discerning the good from the bad. at's when you have to rely on sources you trust. For the past 11 years, we've dedicated our content to helping you master key management skills and provide you with the re- sources necessary to build stronger, better, more profitable companies — and we continue to make this content available at hvacrbusiness.com. One of the benefits of being a business management focused pub- lication is that virtually all of our content over the years is what we call evergreen. Browse through our archives of Ruth King's columns, for example, and you'll find you can take what she wrote about five, six or even nine years ago and easily ap- ply it to your business today. With such a vast library of con- tent covering so many essential business management topics available on our website, its interesting to note that two of the most popular articles on our website, month aer month, deal with the same general subject — Unhappy Employees. is tells me two things, 1) this is a problem you, as busi- ness owners, encounter oen and 2) this is a problem people type into Google oen, looking for help. It's not all that surprising, really. Rarely can you run a busi- ness without coming across an employee who is unhappy, or who is underperforming due to a bad attitude. It happens to even the most successful companies — the difference is, they deal with it quickly, and in a professional manner. Steven Tulman is an entrepreneur, author and speaker who focuses on helping companies create high functioning and motivated teams. He's written several articles on the sub- ject of unhappy employees and offers some excellent advice. "As a manager, you sometimes have to deal with unhappy employees and it is your responsibility to see what you can do to turn the situation around," he says. "It is not possible to keep all employees happy all of the time, but there are many situations that you can improve." If this is something you're struggling with (and judging by our own site Analytics, it is), just type "Steven Tulman un- happy employees" into Google and you'll find plenty of help.
